Mishti Boy and I’ve been enjoying our visits to Te Tokaroa, otherwise called Meola Reef Dog Park. This reef peninsula covered by mangroves was formed when Te Kōpuke Mount Saint John erupted more than 28,000 years ago, and its 11 km long lava flow spilled into the Waitematā Harbour. Here, we filmed a snippet of raga Puriya Dhanashree at sunset, freely improvised and without accompaniment. See YouTube for the video.
